The destination

The City of Roses
facing Osorno Volcano

Founded in 1854 by German settlers and known as the 'City of Roses', Puerto Varas sits on the shore of Lake Llanquihue offering the most iconic view of southern Chile, with Osorno Volcano as its backdrop.

Puerto Varas is the perfect logistics base for exploring the Andean circuit: Petrohué Falls 40 minutes away, Lago Todos los Santos 50 minutes away and Cochamó valley one hour away.

It is home to the Teatro del Lago, one of Latin America's most important cultural venues. The Sacred Heart Church (1918), a National Monument, and the heritage buildings of the historic centre form an architectural tour with strong Bavarian influence.
